A LITTLE HELP FOR YOUR NEXT PROJECT
Make room
for making.
Stitch is a cross stitch workbench: a place to check measurements, compare fabrics and leave with a clear plan.
The idea is simple. You should be able to see how your chart fits a piece of fabric without juggling conversions or losing track of the border on each side.
Clear calculations, visible assumptions.
This tool uses arithmetic, not AI-generated measurements. Stitch count divided by effective fabric count gives the finished stitched size. Borders are added on both sides. When working backwards from fabric dimensions, the maximum stitch count is rounded down so the chart fits.
“Over two” halves the effective fabric count. Inches and centimetres use the exact conversion of 2.54 centimetres per inch. Fabric cutting measurements are rounded up to two decimal places; the visual is a proportional preview, not a printable cutting template.

Before you cut.
Measure your actual fabric and check the finishing instructions. Fabric count can vary, and washing can change dimensions. This calculator does not estimate shrinkage, thread requirements, frame rebates or the space needed by a particular finishing technique.
The 3-inch border is an editable example, not a rule for every project.
Designed to stay out of your way.
No account is needed. Calculations run in your browser. A project link keeps the measurements in the URL so you can save it as a bookmark or share it. Printed notes use the measurements currently shown in the calculator.
